Always on the hunt for new wood I stopped at my wood suppliers’ store and saw this ugly chunk of maple that the owner had up for sale as a turning block. The decision was two pints of beer or the wood for nine bucks. I took the wood and what a diamond in the rough! The wood was spalted and when I cut out the boot shape I knew something was going to happen. When I applied the finish the surprise shot at me. I see a country scene and if you look hard there should be two crowing roosters on the heel. That’s what I saw after the two pints!!!!

No, wait. I see a Native American shooting arrows from a canoe at a fleeing buffalo. (Very cool, by the way.)

I see a guy on a horse chasing a riderless horse, with a second guy standing up on a hill watching.

I’ve had half a bottle of white and all I see is a good looking boot!

The eagle is almost on top of roadrunner! Isn’t Mother Nature fantastic??!
