Filling a "void" on a kitchen wall...

I had some really interesting vintage shelves laying around. What makes them interesting, they are from the 40’s, and they are poplar veneered with maple!!! 3 years ago I remodeled the kitchen, with the idea I was going to replace the stock flat white laminated cabinet doors with recessed maple doors, I made a couple just to see what they would look like… I put them through the planer to match the thickness of the originals, wasn’t crazy about them and went with 3/4 instead… So these two doors sat in the workshop shop for a couple years, and the just seemed to go nicely with the veneered shelves, so this is what developed, still a project in the works, maybe a wine glass rack in the lower center section…..
