Made this as a gift for the mother in law.
It was made primarily from Oak scrap cut offs. I ran them through the planer to get the sizes evened up and than cut them to size and glued. There was a lot of repetition in the cuts (particularly the dowels) so stop blocks are a great idea.

Jeff, It looks good, There is one of these on my to do list for my wife. Did you just take the dimensions from the ones in the store? I just can not bring myself to spend the money on one even though I have yet to make one.
