Craft Desk - based on Target online model

This is a craft-work desk that I made for my sister-in-laws birthday. It was not my core design, it was a copy of something she had seen on Target’s website. Target wanted over $450 for the desk (not including shipping). I was able to do it for about $280. It is all 7 ply Oak plywood with solid oak trim. Pocket screw joinery and basic finishing nails was used for the construction. In the spring we will finish it with a wipe on poly. Oh, yeah, I used-about a half gallon of TiteBond II on it too. Best glue ever. The dark stained picture is the catalog desk that we based the design on. Total dimensions are 36” deep x 36” tall x 66” wide. In the background of one of the pictures you can see my tablesaw bench (another project) that I completed in late 2010. A 72” x 72” formica covered tablesaw and router table make projects like this easy.

Looks similar to this modular version in the current Woodsminth magazine (issue No. 193)
