Simple tea box, made out of cherry

I like the hinges,
drill two 5mm holes insert two sharpened dowels
line up lid and press down, drill two more 5mm holes in lid
insert hinges and tape lid on, so lid does not move
trim lid with flush router bit ( add more tape as you route)
route a 45-degree bevel on box and lid (to center of 5mm hole)
glue hinges in place and you done

used a bird’s mouth router bit to do the ends
Here is a link for a bird’s mouth calculator, if your interested

Also used the tape trick to glue the box together, easiest way to glue a box together IMO

That is one nice tea box! Congrats on figuring out / using a bird’s mouth bit – I’ll have to try it one day. You’ve done us BCer’s proud! Thanks for sharing. Play safe.
