This is my first major solid wood project. It is a variation on an arts and crafts cabinet I saw in the April 09 Popular Woodworking. I made this to replace the piece of junk in my trailer. This is another project that took a lot longer than expected. There were many things I had never done, like a framed door, and I made a lot of mistakes. I noticed two things about the mistakes, first they were almost all method of work errors, and second, it takes a lot longer to fix a mistake than it takes to make one. This project had a number of interesting peices. One was the Parliment hinges, another was the sides, which are not parallel on the top and bottom, or 90 degrees to the front and back. That means that the cabinet can only stand alone on the sides. This created some issues in assembly and finishing. The other is the handle which is hand made not according to the origional design. But I liked this one better and I made it myself.
