This one was just finished. I made the original male lion last year for my parents (last two pictures). They loved it so much and were so happy to have it I wanted to do a female to match. I hope you can see some small improvements because when I made the first one I had only been doing intarsia for about four months. Now it’s been a little over a year sense I started. I made the first one from a Judy Roberts pattern, but could not find a female pattern anywhere. I finally found an old clip art and went off of that to make a pattern. I used the Inkscape program to make my own pattern. Making the pattern took almost as long as the making the piece lol. I have not had the opportunity to give it to them yet because we live about 5 hours away and I wish I had a side by side picture. I made the female about three inches smaller to because males are usually bigger. This piece was made from lacewood, curly maple, aspen, walnut, wenge, ebony, yellow heart, mahogany, cherry (light and dark). I hope they will like it and they will match up together. Thanks for looking and any suggestions are alway welcome.

Kory,
We can only begin to imagine the hours of time that went into such an undertaking. Your parents will be simply delighted!
