I just completed this bench for my porch area. I am going to either poly it or paint it.

I love it! Do you have the plans for it? My wife wants the very same thing!

I like the looks of your bench. Do you have plans available for it? I would be interested in building it for my 5th grade students in our reading corner of our classroom.

Thank you everyone for the nice words. The bench plans can be found in a fantastic book called “The Complete Book of Woodworking” Published by the Landauer Corp for about $20 – $30. This is one of the only woodworking books that I have seen were the plans have been checked and re-checked for GD & T. The final bench was just .25” different in width that what was on the plans, and that was due to me changing the design a little. I did increase the back slats to 22” tall since I am 6’ tall. I also changed the back pattern due to how I was building it. I do not recommend the Jigsaw for this project, but the use of a bandsaw. You can work with a jigsaw, I just don’t think your control will be as good for some of the curves.
At about midnight, I determined what was missing off this bench, so I am going to use water slide decals to place some trivia questions and fun facts onto the bench. I will then spray the bench with poly to finish it off.
