This is my first piece of furniture. It’s an elaboration of something that my wife and I saw in a restaurant gift shop. Their piece was an unimaginative, heart-shaped, oak cutout. I couldn’t help but to take the opportunity to personalize the simple piece. My wife and I each wear Claddagh rings in an Irish tradition. Their collective symbols stand for friendship, loyalty, and love- represented by hands, a crown, and heart. I used this inspiration for the central detail, and completed the theme by cutting the base into a Celtic trinity knot. Walnut with a tung oil finish.

Love this!! I’ve worn my Chaddagh ring every day for years and years too! Your piece really has charm and character…great job! :)

ooooooh this is wonderful!!
Not only the design (and meaning) but also the smaller space that this takes up, compared to traditional quilt displays. I really like this
