These were gifts to my brother and his wife for their wedding. I usually don’t like painting over my projects, but it matched the rest of the furniture in their house. I added some smoked glass for the tops to give it a more modern look.

The tables look very good. Welcome to LJ. It looks like you have a big shop there.

These look great. Yes, black and espresso finishes are very “in-style” right now and are a little contrary to what we as woodworkers might like to show off about our projects. Still, all that matters is the recipients were happy, and I’m sure they were.

Did you use poplar?

Thanks, and yeah I used poplar… I don’t really care for poplar because of the color and grain but I’m going to be painting it its ok, plus its a little cheaper.
