This project was a special project. After my son and his family settled into a bigger apartment, they needed a bigger TV and of coarse dad said yes I can make you something to set it on, plus where all the other stuff can go. This is the first project I made out of cherry. A few mistakes made, but it still turned out well. Might note that the little carved santa on top is another one of my projects.

Tom, this is a pretty nice cabinet. I am sure your it is well appreciated by your son and his family. It looks like you chose some nice looking cherry for its construction. Out of curiosity what type of finish did you put on the cabinet?

Wow, the finish looks great on this. I particularly like the grain on the cabinet doors. This is a nice design, yet it seems to be completely functional for its purpose.

On the finish I used General Finishes Arm-R-Seal then General Seal-A-Cell Clear Finish. Plus pleanty of sanding and steel wool. The Cherry is curley cherry. I believe that is a common type of cherry in the Indiana area? I ordered through a local lumber yard here in town. I was impressed with the results myself.

Thanks Tom
