About 2 years ago a friend of mine bought a chair similar to this one from an Amish Store. The original was made with treated lumber and he asked me to make him 2 more like it out of cedar and he wanted them over sized (he’s a bigger fellow). I took a couple of pictures of it before delivering them. While my wife who works in photo was developing them, a friend of hers noticed the chair and wanted one. I agreed to do so under the condition that she let me make it out of barn lumber. The step idea is kind of cool but it is a tipping hazard, so if I decide to make another one I am going to have to redesign it a little bit. Finished with Heilsmann exterior clear satin sparurathane.

Man I love those kind of chairs – like a cool country rustic variation on the adirondack. Looks great.
