The Reclining Nude spoon I pulled out of a brush pile last week. I think it is Live Oak.

The second is Black Cherry Burl and I carved the bowl around the concentric circles.

The squiggly one is cherry.

On the Witch I left the bark attached on the bowl and the hat, hair and face. It was a piece of Witch Hazel (hence the name) that I cut a bullet in half on the first cut.

The Lizard is from the same piece of Black Cherry as the other. Couldn’t give much detail to the feet so I made him club-footed.

The last one is called ‘A Salute to Norm’ and is Maple Burl. If you haven’t seen his work, he makes the prettiest spoons on this planet.

Thanks for looking.

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)

Wow, fantastic work! Very creative. I’ve not seen a lot of nudes in wood…

Great looking spoons. Your spoons are exceptional, and on par with Norm’s.

Now that someone called you Spoonman I can’t get the song out of my head! These are awesome. Each one going off in its own direction of design. I love a little live edge on the spoon but who could resist the lizard! Thanks for sharing with us.
