David that is a stunning box!!!

Welcome to Lumberjocks!

Congratulations on your retirement, and thank you for your service. I seperated from the Air Force last year after a 6 year tour.

What kind of finish did you use and what kind of techniques did you use to curve/shape the body of the box?

Very very cool box. Welcome to the best woodworking site on the web. Friendly advice, which has helped me often and never a discouraging word.

Despite what Garrett Hack has to say, Figured Maple and Padauk is an awesome pair!

David, even though you are new to LJ, you obviously are not new to wood working! This is an outstanding piece of work!! Thanks for posting! I look forward to seeing more of your work.
