This is a wall clock that I recently finished as a Christmas present. The clock is made of African Mahogany and Tiger Maple. I designed this piece with inspirations from traditional shaker design. The finish is a couple of coats of clear shellac. The striping on the tiger maple has been “popped” a little to show the beauty of the wood but not dominate the piece. I wanted the striping to age gradually with the piece. Even a few weeks after completion the stripping reads a more prominently but is still in harmony with the rest of the clock.

This is a great looking piece, I like the soft looking feel of the contrasting woods. Very nice !
