Red Cedar Burl Yarn Bowl. 8” X 3.75”, food safe finish.

I almost finished this bowl a while ago, didn’t know wether to make it a yarn bowl or not. Yesterday one of my daughters called looking for one so I took care of it.

OOPS, I’ll have to sand off the 0 and put a 2 in there, I’m stuck in the past.

That is a beautiful bowl John.
Great shape and the cedar burl sure is nice. Fantastic project and great use for a bowl. I’ve signed 2020 on a bowl too. I can’t get over how the grain really pops with that finish.

The bowl looks great and that grain is NUTS with the finish. Nice work.

Thanks fellas, my daughter said I probably did most of the work in 2020 so it’s okay.

Sweet yarn bowl John no matter what year it is. LOL. Wish I knew someone who needed one, I would like to give it a try.

The depth of the grain is really amazing and the curve flows so well. What did you finish with?

Very nicely done, red cedar looks quite dense. Have not been able to do much shop work this summer as I have lots of commitments to take care of here. Been cold spring, rainy too the last few days and did a couple of lathe turnings. should post them as they are quite unique.

Thanks again, if I’m lucky I’ll get my hands on some more Red Cedar Burls.

Lance I used Clapham’s Salad Bowl Finish.
