Redneck or Hillbilly Doorbell is something I saw in a magazine somewhere a while back. For those of you not familiar with a Redneck, you will need to look up the definition. LOL. Not much of a project, but it did get me back into the shop after a bad heart problem and then a small set-back. Just a Pine board ( 17 inches X 9 1/2 inches ) with the letters wood burned in on the edges and then filled in with black paint. It has four coats of outdoor urethane varnish on it. This is a real trap that can be sprung and then reset. I have worked over the mechanism to where it won’t hurt but will hit and scare you enough to make you think it did. Painted the pan red and mounted it beside my shop door.

Hahaha! Maybe a First Aid Kit with a credit card slot next to it would go good with this one!
Nice work Mel!
Glad you’re ok and back in the shop! Take good care of your heart buddy!

Glad to know you’re moving around again in the shop. Take care of yourself Mel.
A doorbell and alarm all in one, can’t be beat. LOL. This is great, I should add something to my shop door.
