Retirement Gift

A good friend of mine recently retired from Federal service. I wanted to give him something special for his more than 30 years of Federal service so I made him a cherry and ash box with hand cut dovetails. I also made him a pen (he had been hinting for years that he wanted me to make him one) and a bottle opener with an imbedded coin. I also gave him a bottle of whiskey to help him with the transition from Federal service. It seems to have worked out well for him.

Bottle of whiskey would be a great gift on its own ))
But with beautiful box and always useful pen and bottle opener it is a grand gift!

That’s a great looking box. I’ll bet you did ease him into retirement quite well.

Thoughtful gift all ‘round. The box is elegant in the simplicity of its lines.

That box turned out great and that bourbon is a really great value. It’s bottled here in VA not too far from me.

Nice work on the box. What took you so long to make your good friend (I think you mentioned he was a Federal Worker) a pin? 8^}

What kind of whiskey is that? It looks high end.
