So my best man is an engineer and he doesn’t have a good set of calipers. The box is made from hard maple and walnut.

The box was made using a CNC to carve the lid and clean out the walnut.

The base has a piece of open cell foam to prevent the calipers from sliding around.

The lid will have an engraved plate with his name on it.

Nice gift.

A good friend gave me a caliper many many years ago and I use it all the time. I did have to supplement it with a metric one a few years ago. Making conversion calculations was a nuisance.

The lid is a fine piece of wood. Good gift idea.

Very nice! I’d even sit (or stand) thru a wedding for a gift like that.
