Neat idea Ken!
Are those strips “spring loaded” and held in position by the caps or did you steam/heat/water soak bend them first?

No need for steam bending. The strips are just pried apart and the little spacers glued in. The strips are doubled up, ie there are actually 8 strips – they ben easier that way.
