I suggest you to put a piece of orange or lemon,to attract them, and some orange juice enough to drown them,,, it works for me ,,,you could get a colony first summer, and none after that. Have a great summer.

Nice job on the bee trap, like the angled sides on that. Good luck on the task of saving the house. I have a few of those around the porch, those little buggers are getting at the soffit area.
