I finally got time to work on the glue up blank that George (Woodmaster1) sent me. He had sent a great bowl and pen, and also a smaller glued up blank that matches the bowl he finished. (4th picture)
I had never turned a segmented bowl before, it acted differently. Maybe because all the faces were side grain, or the glue acted as a lubricant. It was very easy and faster than usual to sand to a polish.
Thanks George!

Doc, that looks great, a nice finish and profile. Well done. Those segments are fun to turn.
The bowl you sent me is sitting on the coffee table holding mini candy bars. And the lathe tool is working out nicely. Thanks again.

Well done Mike :-) I’ve only turned one segmented blank but not hogging all the material out of the middle sure sped it up for me!
