Project Information

Welp, I did it. It took me a year, between projects, but I did figure out how to do it by trial and error. But I learned a lot. Tried putting weights on it, on a flat piece of quartz top, lightly sprayed it with water, let it set for weeks (no luck). Finally after months I kerfed the bottom side, routed 3/4" wide 1/2" deep and put strips of pine (because that's what I had). It almost got it down, so I put steel channel over one of them to completely get it flat. I just tried to use what I had handy. This piece was sitting in the rain for some time, and had about a half inch concave bow on the top, the outer legs were swollen, so I had to put new sections where they needed replacing and then try to match the stain. I tried to force it down with braces on the inside, but it only raised the the outside legs up, so it rocked. I wasn't sure if I was over my head on this one. But, my wife is happy. Now she wants to keep it. Okay, I'm stumped. I tried rotating the original file, every single way and it still comes up side ways when I upload the picture. Okay, I think I figured something out. I had to take the picture in the landscape position (sideways). All that work, just to salvage the top. Brother! View attachment 543846

Looks good even in the sideways photos. Lol

Also I agree with your wife. It looks good enough to keep!

A satisfying end to the work! I'm sure the cats will be happy to get their supplies returned as well 8^)

+1 on Irfanview.
I first do a rotate if needed.
Then I usually do a crop to remove stuff I don't want.
Then I do a resize/sharpen so that longest edge of the photo is only 1000 pixels. (This way the photo also uploads quicker.)
Then I 'save as' and rename so the originals are untouched.

You could always open them in Microsoft Pictures and rotate/save that way too.

Any photo editing program on a computer, smart phone or pad can be used. Just open the picture in the program, if it is still sideways rotate it. Then also make a any minor or major correction to the image such as cropping or the brightness, or size, etc. and then save it. Then it should upload in Lumberjocks correctly

I have similar issues with pictures being upright on my computer or phone but when posted to a site they turn sideways. It's very annoying
