Trying to get ready for SWAT this year. These are some of the “Weed Pot” banquet table decoration that will be the theme for this year. Two of them are Oak with some of the bark still on, a Cherry with bark, Cypress, a piece of Holly that I experimented using the metal effects coating on. It’s copper with a green patina aged look. The last one is a piece of Osage I had lying the shop forever. Just wire brushed and did a little turning, but other that, left it alone.

Good work.
I like the last one. I think similar ones could be made from old rotted split rail fence pieces.
I have been turning for 40 years and until last month I never made one of these. Biggest problem was the mental block i had over the design. I made a small one and another about 12” tall. Of course my wife wants to put fresh flowers in the large one so I lined the hole with a 3/4” copper pipe to hold water.
