Easter 2020, when COVID blew everything up, I made some crosses out of old ceder fence pickets, then posted online offering no-contact porch dropoff (free) to anyone who wanted one. Ended up delivering about a dozen. Quick, fun, satisfying little project.
Pickets are planed one side only, so the recipient can use the “fresh” side, or the weathered side.
Cross bars are glued together with Titebond3, tacked with pin nails, and tied with rope
Made one cross with shaped arms (last two pictures) and a 1/4 lap joint, but that was too much extra work.

Nicely done. And such a nice gesture to give them away – I’m sure they were well received.

Cool design that has both simplicity and rustic options. Great gift!
