I recently had a local customer ask me to build a small 3 ft. lighthouse after seeing another one I made last year. Apparently, their young son is hooked on lighthouses right now (very cool). I had wanted to try out a new color and it turned out quite nice. The lighthouse is made entirely of pressure-treated lumber, so I used a Cabot deck stain called “Newburyport Blue”. I might be making a bigger one now, I really like this color!

Nice build. What did you use for the light?

The light is a revolving solar beacon that I have a company make for me. You can’t see the cord in back, but it connects to a remote solar panel. It has a photocell, so it comes on by itself at dusk. No power required!

That is cool!
How many of these have you made?
When I first saw the photo I thought it was the Tardis from Dr. Who as the Tardis is that color.

This is the 3rd one like this I’ve made. They’ve been popular. This one was for a local customer, but my wife liked the color so much I might have to make another :)
