A sign I made to commemorate my Dads service in the navy. I used a patch as reference. My dad had this patch sewed on his motorcycle jacket.

Wow- very impressive. Did your dad serve under Jim Morrison’s father (Admiral George Stephen Morrison)?
Sad fate to the latest Bon Homme Richard.
Thanks for posting.

pottz – Yeah he loves it, has it hanging next to the back door in the house so he sees it every day. I used the old grid method and scaled it up and just paint and brushes from there. I did trace some stencils for the letters.
rtbrmb – I will have to ask him about Jim Morrisons dad. My dads served towards the end of Vietnam, from what I understand Admiral Morrison was their at the very beginning when it was only an idea.

Love it! I’ve thought of doing a few smaller ones for myself; but just the units I’m a plank owner in. Great execution
