A couple of years ago the Owner of our Men’s Shed Complex asked if someone could make a Box for his brand new Grand-daughter so she could keep all those “Special Things” in it. Birthday cards etc.
I was the lucky person selected to make the box and it was very similar to the one pictured here.
Just before Christmas he arrived at the shed and requested 2 more for his two new Grand-daughters. Guess who copped the job again.
All three boxes are the same.
The boxes are made from pine, (Bottom and Sides) Jarrah trim and an unknown timber from India for the top. The boxes are 4 inches tall and made to fit A4 paper sheets.
They are finished with clear varnish.
Hope you like them and thanks for looking.
C & C Welcome.
Bob.

I like your design concept, the jarrah trim and splines really set it off

Beautiful boxes. I also like seeing pine used in quality projects. To many ppl think it’s a construction lumber only but when paired with a contrasting wood it really shines.

Very nice looking box Bob!
Nothing wrong with using pine for making boxes! I use it all the time and love how it makes my shop smell. I’m sure all three boxes will hold many memories to look back on! Love that red interior!
