I had a large white oak come down in my woods last year – planning on cutting up blanks out of it. I went back last week and cut a couple sections off one of the branches. I messed up not going high enough up the side when shaping the outside and didn’t realize the end result would be a bowl/platter – haha. Either way happy with it and having fun learning. Definitely was more difficult to handle than the cherry I had been playing around with, but sanded up very nicely, end grain looks cool.
