I have a few fly fishing shops showing some interest in my new fly fishing-themed clocks. If they bite (excuse the pun) I might be making fly fishing clocks exclusively for awhile to fill an order or two. We’ll see.
Since I already started it, I decided to finish my most recent 10×10” wall clock. I made some slight variations. I decided to expand the size of the piece of the wild cherry gall to fill the entire little frame. I fit it in there as squarely as I could, but the gall was still pretty wet, so it’s doing some shrinking and shifting.
I also tried my best with what I have to get really tight miters… and they are better than anything I’ve done in the past. I attribute my mitering to this new saw:
In addition, I received some C clamps or trigger clamps or whatever you want to call them for Christmas. I love working with them. Now, when I’m gluing a frame, my frame looks like someone healing from a broken neck:
They certainly help to get me as tight of a bond as possible.
Thanks for reading and taking a look!

Ok Van, now you’re showing off with your miters – I knew you could do it
And btw – I really like the design of this one
Good luck with your fish shop

Thanks, Eric. Nothing 100% yet about the fly shops, but they responded positively to my initial email and asked some questions about prices, etc.
So, we’ll see…

Thanks for the good words, Dick. And, without your encouragement, my miters wouldn’t look nearly this good.
I’ll keep you posted on the fly shops.
