Had a small stash of thin Aromatic Red Cedar…about 1/4” thick. All corners, including the tray’s are made with those 3/16” finger joints. Poplar bottom is a 2pc glue-up, also 1/4” thick…glued and nailed in place. Brass hardware.
Fancy, scroll sawn handle in the tray..
Small, through Mortise & Tenon joints to house the handle into the ends of the tray.
Yeah…
2 coats of clear gloss poly. Just on the outside of the box…I do not “finish” the insides of a Cedar box.
The Boss has this little box on her Nite Stand..to hide her rings and other shiny things from a cat.
For scale..the end view,,is 4-3/8” wide..and is 3-3/8” tall, counting the lid. 3 Brass nails per side, driven down flush.
Thanks for looking in!

I enjoy following your hand tool process for your projects. You show how it really can be done with great results!
That lock looks familiar? Wonder if my key would fit? 8^)

Nicely done! My only suggestion is if you really plan on having the lock be useful, I wouldn’t put the hinge screws on the outside of the box…....quicker to unsrew the hinge then break the lock…lol
