I had a small olive tree that was starting to push my garden wall over so I cut it down and ripped it. The tree had been cut back and pollarded so many times there wasnt a straight piece of wood in it. But I found this piece which looked vaguely animal I ripped it again and bookmatched it to produce an Alien skull.
I put a maple spline full length to hold it together, and there is a french cleat on the back to hang it to the wall.
Apart from a coating or two of shellac, this hasnt been altered at all.

This is a wooden ink blot test. I showed it to a group of women and one of them pointed out a penis complete with ball sack. Its all in eye of the beholder.

That was a great find! Good choice of cut…

I’d probably make a clock out of it…

I agree Mark, she’s right behind the huge mouthed Beast howling at the moon. I’d have kept that whole for depth, but the resaw brought out the Alien, if you’re into that kind of thing. That truly is a chunk a wood that is a conversation starter.

I see goat´s head/eyes, skull, without the satanic aspect.
