Project Information

A while back my husband sent me a text that he wanted me to build a banana holder. I put together this one from some oak.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law then made a request for one. They live in another state so it will need to be shipped. Wanted to be able to use a flat ship box so have it all ready for easy assembly with just two screws. Have countersunk and pilot holes all lined up. I did a trial setup with smaller screws so it should go together pretty easy. Cut all the curves on the bandsaw and smoothed with a file and sanding. Likely should have switched out to a smaller blade on the bandsaw, but ended up ok. This one is cherry, with semi glass GF High Performance. Out of bananas so couldn't stage a great picture of it "in use."

Thanks. Have to give the finish a couple weeks to cure before getting it boxed up to send to Florida.

Thanks. Always fun to make gifts, and in this case to fulfill a specific request.

Interesting! Our bananas always just sit on the counter, but I can see where a hanger would be useful. Nice work!

Andre - thanks, simple little projects are fun and fill a "need"

Dave - thanks, as a kid our bananas were stored in a little basket. When my husband made the request, I did some googling to get ideas. These emerged!

You are going bananas making these BB 8^)

I like the way you planned for shipping, would like to see your 8-language pictograph assembly instruction manual and assorted "do not eat" plus CA cancer warnings 8^)

Good workmanship as always!

Haha…I am planning to send the correct size screws and the matching screw tip (one of those unique ones) so should be an easy assembly. ;)

Thanks! The flat ship will save a lot and hopefully increase the chance that it arrives "safely." I've sent pictures so they have at least seen it until the finish cures and I can pack it up to mail.

Cool bananas BB1!

However,

what if they grow the other way down south in Aus,

even with Merlot anti growth.
