My Wooden Persuader

My version of a wooden shop persuader, which started out as a scrap bin project. The main part of the mallet is lignum vitae with purple heart and hard maple cheeks. The handle is mahogany and maple, spread and wedged for a snug and permanent fit with a lignum vitae wedge. Is it just me or do others find that some of their most popular creations were originally made from scrap? Holidays around the corner and have orders for ten more.

-- Some of my most creative moments have been when I've had to cover up an error in my woodworking.

When you can make something out of the scraps it is always better. I have a stack behind my miter saw of various types. One day they will get used.

The malets look to nice to use and sturdy, great job.

Solid…
