Another toy for the Boys and Girls Club Fund Raiser – A Doll’s Cradle

My wife bought a Baby Doll then we had a look through my cradle plans settling on one from an old Wood Magazine design.

I had to scale the cradle to fit the 16” (400mm) doll.
I made a set of templates to the scaled pattern and used some old clear radiata pine.
The ends had to be jointed to get a wide enough board.
It’s all glued together with Titebond Original plus screws and plugs.
I added a mixture of Jarrah & Mahogany stains to my homemade WipeOnPoly for the finish.

Keep making all these toys and at your rate, you’re gonna run out of fund raisers...

The local Boys&Girls Club has gymnastics for the community from kindygym to seniors.
It’s full name is Springwood and District Citizens Boys and Girls Club Incorporated.
It’ll be going as a volunteer based not for profit community organisation for 66yrs in January 2022.
Our family has only been involved this past 30yrs.
Except for the Covid Lockdown over the past 6yrs we’ve had about 500 kids/people in classes weekly.

Nicely done Peter, and for such a wonderful cause. A simple design that goes together quickly. The Boy’s an Girl’s Club is luck to have you working for community.

You are on a roll with great projects for a very worthy cause! The heart in the “headboard” is such a nice detail. Hope this brings a big bid for the fundraiser.

Thank you ladies and gents for the kind words of encouragement.
Yes I too hope this years Christmas Raffle goes well for the club after over 4 months of lockdown and no fund raising.
Christmas is just what the club and the whole community needs.
