Retirement Clock

When I got my wood shop going in 1990, I planned to make a retirement clock for all the people that worked for me in Quality Assurance. I had brass plaques made for all of them- not knowing when I’d need then. I made some clocks for those that retired and then in 2002, I go RIFFED (RIF= Reduction In Force)out when they cut the company by 6000 people. I lost touch with most of them but I ran into Patti at my last craft show and she is retired so this is her clock. The first ones were red oak, but these two are walnut( one is for the next retired employee I meet).

The vertical body 1 1/4” x 4” x 5 1/2” and is doweled and glued to the base.

They are finished with satin poly.

Cheers, Jim

Jim that’s a pretty cool of you running into Patti and making her a clock. Only I heard the clock should be broken cause when you retire you don’t care what time it is anymore. The only time that counts is your time now. Nice piece of walnut with a nice finish.
RIF- reduction in force, LOL you see a lot of that going around.

Can’t speak for the red oak ones, but in Walnut that is a stately clock Jim.

Well it’s more than probable that Patty time, is pretty close to what the world says, it’s generational. Now these Millenial Munchkins, it’s hard to tell what time they run on. I still haven’t met one that works. :-))))

Great Retirement Clocks Jim….Very nice gesture and very generous and caring attitude to workmates.

Clocks are very attractive. Patti will love her clock and bring back heaps of memories as she enters her retirement journey.
