Corn Hole Board Set. This was another gift for my daughter’s wedding, since she likes yard games.

Regulation size 2’ x 4’, built from 1×4 radiata pine, (dado’s for corners, cross pieces and the top edge to inset the 1/2” birch plywood, there is also a grove to create the storage bins for the bags). Used 1-1/2” poplar for the scoring between the legs, creating a abicas. One case to hold everything.

The wedding theme is fall sunflowers, hence the playing field. The board was finished first with a white wash. Colors are acrylic for playing field (that was the hardest part, I am not a painting artist) once flower was completed, there was a second white wash using the blue and green. Then the board was sealed with 3 coats of Spar Varnish, with a 0000 wool buffing then a micro fiber cloth.

Thanks for looking

Thanks Dave. The lumber was purchased, milled, and put together in a day. The painting took a few weekends to get it right.

Thanks Jim. She has a thought as to what she is getting. Can’t wait to see her face when it’s presented next weekend.

Having dinner with her in Cedar Springs on Thursday.

Thanks Dave in WV. Don’t remember where I saw it, but I liked the idea.

Nice boards. The simple solution of the counters is excellent for those who make it a drinking game.

Nice gift Eric.
Do you play. I was at the Lackawanna Station hotel in Scranton Pa. visiting my family. In the parking they were holding a Corn Hole competition. I was amazed at how good these players were.

If you get time look up that hotel it’s an old but beautiful building.

BB1, thank you

Peter, thank you. Hey they have professional games here in the states. Some of the folks are good, and yes it surprised me when I saw one of the competitions on TV.

Ivan, thank you. The painting was the hardest part for me. It’s kind of like horse shoes, only safer.

Dave (doubleDD), thank you. I saw all kinds of scoring devises, I wanted to have one that would fit into the case. And I also wanted it to be wood.

James, thank you. No I don’t play, but I might start. The next time I head up to New York, I may have to check out the hotel.

Note: I see a few more if these being built, big item around here. I am thinking about doing an outline of the local lake. Sell them to some of the homeowners. Hey, most of the lake houses start at half mil, and those are the little ones. Lake Keowee is a beautiful lake.
