Another grandchild another bank. Was starting to run out of ideas until saw this in Weekend Woodworking Projects. It’s was a spin off from Wood Magazine for awhile. You know how hard it is to find a 32 year old magazine? Wood is cherry and walnut for contrast. I played with the size to match the wheels, axels, and postal door that I already had. A little bit of engraving with my CNC to personalize it. A couple of coats of danish oil and then 5-6 coats of a thinned 50-50 poly-mineral spirits mixture with a knockdown rub of 0000 steel wool between every other coat.

It’s fun to give kids “technology” from a bygone era, still trying to figure out what to do with rotary phone dials 8^)

That’s really great. You reminded me, I’ve got 2 doors that I need to use for my grandsons.
