This buffet is made out of white oak that I chemically altered the color by using potassium dichloride to give it this rich chestnut color. It is 76 inches long, 15.5 inches deep, and 42 inches in height. It has 6 coats of shellac and 6 coats of poly. My only regret is that I was not able to get framed inset hinges and had to use barrel hinges that were not adjustable.

Desert Walker,

Nice job. Looks great. Too bad about the hinges, the doors look straight.

That’s truly outstanding. The color you achieves is perfect.
