Landscapers were cutting down large juniper bushes near my office, so I grabbed a few of the larger chunks. By the time I got around to using them they had dried and cracked a bit. I sliced up one of the more interestingly shaped pieces and made cutting boards from them. I chipped off the bark, filed the cracks with epoxy, sanded them down, and soaked them in mineral oil. You can still smell the juniper from them.

Kind of reminds me of the Eastern Red Cedar I like to work with. What might the approx. sizes of this piece be. This would look good with some sort of clock works imbedded into it. Good job getting it to look this nice. Mel
