Our good friends and neighbors are about to have a baby girl! I thought I would make a little gift for their new addition. This gift will most likely not get used for a spell so I guess will be plenty of time for the paint to dry! LOL!

Ok you guys you can make fun of me for posting a painted project again! LOL!
Thanks for looking!
Picasso
. Oh! if you would like to make one the PDF plan is free here!
https://cdn.popularwoodworking.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/ICDT_Step_Stool.pdf

Edit;
I added the name of the paint I used for anyone needing to know! It’s 2X Ultra Cover Berry Pink by Rust-Oleum Paint and primer.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Update,
I followed a plan but wasn’t completely satisfied with it.
I added two little donuts to make the seat back stay more upright. I didn’t like how far the seat leaned back and was worried that the center of gravity might be too far back and a child may fall backwards on it.

.

Thanks Jim!
We can’t wait to see this gift helping the little one get a boost! It’ll be a long wait!
We still have our 50 year old’s stepstool!

OK picasso, nice work. I’m guessing the paint will be dry by the time she gets to use it. These step stool chairs are perfect for the little ones and us big ones too. I’m surprised you used a plan for this with your knowledge and woodworking capabilities. Is that a bolt by the bottom of the arm?
For some reason I think I have some of that berry pink. Must be a good color. LOL.

Tony that stool/table/bench is PANK, goes screaming right past pink, but looks to be quite the piece of child sized work.

You are a good neighbor.

Very nice of you Tony.
But sir the little beauty will have to grow into that gift.
I can see strollers, prams, cradles and high chairs in the future for your jobs list, and loving it.

That is a cute little build shaver... Love the way it folds down to use as steps for sneaking out from the cot for a midnight snack…

However, I think you were presumptuous with the pink paint… with modern trends, what if after the birth she claims to be a boy and demand you paint it blue... what tools in your workshop could handle that obsolete pinkie?

Thanks Dave, I’m beginning to like the name Picasso! But unlike him I’ll never enjoy painting stuff! Sometimes when you come across a plan you just go with the flow! Then you pick it apart and make it better when you make another one. The bold it there cause I followed the plan it’s the pivot for the step. And why do you have pink paint????

Thanks LBD!
To answer your question… I’ll just make a blue one! The tool … Nah no tool needed…I’ll just let my finger push on the blue paint can nozzle!
