Pen and Opener Holder

This is a pen and letter opener stand I made for my desk. The Crown Royal pen and letter opener were gifts from LJ MJR ( thanks Michael ! ) and are made from certified white oak from the Crown Royal barrels in Canada. The stone is a piece of Zyamara Agate from Madagascar that I bought at the Gem Show in Tucson and polished in our park rock shop in Arizona.

These three pieces have been sitting on my desk for years and the rock finally said it wanted to be part of a pen holder!! The holder is 3/4” x 3” x 6” and is made from figured walnut. It is finished with Danish Oil and buffed and waxed.

Cheers, Jim

Jim,

Nice work and got a story to go with it.

My wife and I will return to Tucson this fall. Want to meet your pistachio wood guy, think John Goodwin??

Beautiful, I could have sent you some Crown Royal barrel wood to make it LOL But the walnut is a nice contrast

It looks great sir! Good job!

So you use the opener to press the “inbox” button on your email reader and you press the keys with the pen when you draft a message ? 8^)

Just kidding of course, beautiful design and work as always, that agate is really nice, great way to show off your gifts!

It looks a lot better on your desk in this form than it did before. Nice work Jim. Somethings take longer to tell us what they want to be.
