I made this box for a friend who is moving away.
This is a Wing Box. Go here for more info https://www.lumberjocks.com/Argyllshire/blog/32388

Lids- I had this beautiful piece of walnut cut from the stump and added some shaping to accentuate the swirls.
Handle- Black Palm
Body- Leopardwood
Feet- Wenge
Accents- Maple
Hinges- 1/8” brass rod
Finish- Deft spray

Thanks for looking.

That’s really beautiful. A gorgeous selection of woods, too.

Ok, now you’re just showing off. That is an awesome top, the swirl adds so much to the grain, and the finish looks like fine silk. You just know it’s going to feel good to the hand.

Great work.

Tasty!

Another winner, the subtle carving and detail (like the lid junction) are organic 8^)

So beautiful Andy! The grain in top looks amazing as well as all the other woods used in this box.
The way you mix different woods is an art in itself.

Andy,

Another freekin masterpiece! Copied what I wrote on your 2012 blog. and posting it in my shop.

Next is an offshoot of your work with materials I have on hand.

Lucky neighbor!
