Yew, bandsaw box, turtle

Had a chunk of Yew from my owl projects left over so Knot head thought it might look good as a turtle box…Think he was right…

Lots of shaping and sanding, but it’s shop time…

Finished with Teak oil, what ever that is…Kind of like Boiled linseed oil but it dries faster…Figure if it’s good enough for teak, it should be good for my hard Yew…

Very nice build, I like the Turtle and the side grain looks a lot like a real life Tortoise or box turtle shell. Great job.

Thanks Tony, having fun with different stuff…Thought the kids would get a kick out of this design…And, If I don’t make them , who will…They are alot tougher than I thought they’d be…but I like the final product…
