When I delivered the first Opti my SIL wanted to build a second I brought the strongback with me when I brought the boat over 4 weeks in the summer we built another Opti. He wanted it finished bright So I left and over the winter he finished it.
I built this Opti from 1/4” exterior plywood, western red Cedar and Red Oak on the gunwales finished with epoxy over 6 Oz cloth and Spar Urethane.
I also posted pictures of both boats actually sailing.

Nice build on the Opti, brought back memories of mine from age 16. Sure he will have a lot of fun with it.
About 1968 the father of my friend helped me and 2 other kids plus his son build El Toro sail boats, we had a regatta of 4 sail boats.
Mom sewed a sail for mine. El Toro’s look very similar to the Opti you built. Painted mine yellow.

nice Optimist.
will bring a lot of fun.
but, but… it is capsizing on the first picture.
On your computer, edit with “PHOTO”. Even if it appears with the right orientation, rotate it once in one direction, rotate it back to vertical and save it. Publish the new saved version.
