A very specific cutting board

I recently made this for one our neighbors. They bought a cabin and have been working on renovating it. The cabin had a cutting board in a slot between the drawers and the counter they wanted to replace. The “catch” to all of this is the board is a really odd shape at 11” x 22” x 9/16”. The old board was terribly cupped, partially due to it’s environment in the cabin and also to the original finish only being done on one side.

I made the new one out of maple and cherry and then used my planer to get it down to the correct thickness. I used Walrus Oil and Walrus Oil Board Wax for the finishes.

Very nice color combination, nice! I’m sure they were very happy.

Nice board and for a good purpose. Mat as well replace the cutting board if your renovating.

Looks like a perfect fit. Like the color combination.
