I finished a few weeks ago a honey extractor made of wood (beech in my case, but maple would look as nice and practical).

There are a few reasons why I didn’t want to purchase a cheap MITPROC (Made In The People’s Republic Of China) stainless steel one, mostly because Mitproc but there are other issues associated with cheap stainless steel and honey.

It works like a charm and I’m super chaffed with a nice useful project. Share this with your beekeeper’s friends, I’d love to see some of these built out there ;-) They can download a full set of plans and instructions with my signature.

petty cool reminds me of 50 yrs ago going to grandpas house to spin the combs …. and chew the odd piece that “just seemed to find its way into my hands” i like the wood aspect :)
