a simple looking stool to most but for those that have done maloof style furniture know how complex it really is too create the sculptural look and feel.beautiful work,loved your vid also.

hey ill tell ya the best thing i ever did was push myself and do a maloof rocker.it was time to expand my skills.plus i got some new tools-lol.

- GopherWoodShop Yes, I'm definitely hooked, i've invested a lot already, but the next thing I really need is a shop stool, what do you think about that in a Maloof style, too much, or just go for it?

so are you hooked on this type of woodworking? i cant wait too use the techniques again.not only gorgeous but damn fun to do.

well im lovin it and i think his style and technique has proven itself over time.ive been to his home and workshop a couple times and takin in depth tours with one of his boys-aka larry white a master of the craft himself.his inspiration to me is beyond words.

Hey again, Yes totally agree with you, he was the Pablo Picasso of his time and craft, from what i've read seemed like a really nice man too. I go out to La a lot for work and definitely want to swing by the museum at some point.
As I mention in the video this was just my first try at the Maloof style as eventually I want to make a full set of 10 dinning chairs in this style.

he was a very cool man,i got to meet him once at a wood show just for a minute,after david marks cut in front of me-lol.
