This plane is for my eldest grandson. His brother who was born late June 21 got the Peterbilt, so I had to make something for him as well.
The Sopwith Camel is one of my favorite planes and hence I decided to make one. Yet again, this is not a model, but a toy that must withstands play. I try to make them as realistic looking as possible without going into fine detail that will break when played with. To that end I made a bit of an airfoil on the wings nd made the prop to look like a real one which will turn when held in a the wind of a fan.
As usual I started out with a Google Pinterest search for ideas and I eventually settled on a model plane that I used to draw a Sketchup plan.
My good friend @htl reminded me with my Peterbilt post that I need to add more photos than the 6 at the top of the post. To that end here are a few more pictures from different angles:
Thanks for watching and as always your comments are welcome.
