Platter and Bowl

I had some Hard Wood left over from a previous project. Also a small log from a Neighbours Tree.
It was just the thing for making a Cheese and Salami Platter and a Nut Bowl. I will give them to my good Neighbours Kev and Kath up the road from me. Kev loves Football and I can see him now with a Glass of Red and the Platter and Bowl at his elbow watching the night games.
Part of the Joy of wood Work is making something and seeing the grin on someones face when you give them something hand made.

The Platter is 7 1/2 inches Diameter or 190mm x 1 inch Deep or 25mm

The Bowl is 4 3/4 inches Diameter or 120mm x 1 1/2 inches Deep or 40mm

They both are finished with 3 coats of Organic Danish Oil then Waxed and Buffed by hand with CARNAUBA Cutting Board Conditioner. It is an Australian Food Safe Wax. 100% Australian Beeswax and 100% Pure Carnauba Wax. I find it very easy to use. After Buffing there is no greasy or sticky feel to the Project.

Kind regards…...Cliff.

Everyone in the neighborhood loves the “woodworking guy”, nice set Cliff!

Gift idea: I bet the neighborhood squirrels would love their own nut bowl some day (stocked of course! 8^)

That’s a sweet gift Cliff. Almost makes me want to sit in front of the tube and snack. I bet you make their day with them. Nice work.

doubleDD. Hi Dave. Thank you, Yes I was tempted to fill them with Cheese and Salami and give them a Test Run. Come to think, I don’t have a Bowl or Platter for myself….I had better get Cracking…A Bowl of Nuts while watching the evening news sounds pretty good…Ha Ha Ha…
